This is a bucket of ice.
This is a bucket of water.
The first time I read the challenge, this is what it said:
"I was nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Kate N. and I am nominating Beth S., Julie W. and Linda W. You have 24 hours to take the challenge or you must donate $100 to ALS research."
If I'm not mistaken, that means either you dump a bucket of ice over your head, or you donate money to ALS. It seems pretty straightforward. Say you don't have $100 to donate, for whatever reason. You dump the ice over your head, and get out of it. BUT NO. It has now become a thing where you're supposed to dump a bucket of ice and/or cold water over your head, and then donate money either way. And then you challenge somebody else to do it.
How wasteful, and passive aggressive. Just donate the fucking money to the charity of your choice. And don't parade your do-gooder goodness all over the internet.
It's nice they've raised a lot of money for ALS. But stop throwing water over yourselves.
Why doesn't anybody throw a bucket of steam over their head? Now THAT would be something.
Sometimes I hate the world.
